My Bio
Overall, I am interested in social and ideological conditions and how they relate to a history which is fundamental to those conditions. Exploring history, repression and oppressive ideological structures, I seek to reveal the changing conditions that our culture places upon humans, psychologically and possibly physically.

Painting is a struggle between a traditional process and the new cyber-media age. The artist is a lair, a con-artist who presents an illusion, a vision of a reality, which may or may not be a comfortable. The images captured become psychological moments that hope to create a dialogue to question values of contemporary society. Exploring the possibilities of painting; what value does it has in our digital and cybernetic world of mass-production? I seek to produce art that is a culmination of the contemporary and the historical while revealing repressions that are both personal and cultural. The artist must struggle to remain a singularity within this media-dominated culture that strives to create a homogeneous hegemony of thought.

2006 a change took place. The paint has become both the Content and the Form. Violence or its implication now lives within the Form itself. The paint becomes violent force and flesh at once. Oppression and Repression among others are forces constantly inflicting violence upon the human experience. To paint forces is an attempt to reveal indiscernible zones which become violent acts upon the human form.

Great gallery! However, today, I was reading a... I dunno, morbid blurb about the death of Rachael Durie, so looking at your stuff, is a little extra OH MY GOD! for me today...

Fresh.
Good work. Keep it meaty James, I'll be watching.
Some of your paintings remind me on Francis Bacon in a positiv way. Sorry, I had to mention that, because I am a big Bacon fan. But you have definitely your own language and good topics and ideas. Yeah, meat is not dead flesh. I agree and I'll keep one following your development. So let's see, what will come as next;-)

Keep on working and best wishes from Germany :-)
